It’s been 3 weeks since my last race and 2 weeks until the next one… so to save people from frantically refreshing the blog to get the low down on race number 11, I thought I would keep up momentum and do a quick update…
I was all set to run race number 11 this weekend but as it stands, there was another Emma out there that loves to ruin plans, under the name of ‘Storm Emma’. As we all know, Storm Emma met the Beast from the East earlier this week and the UK couldn’t handle it.
A very wise decision was made by the organisers of Trafford 10k to postpone the race much to my dismay delight.
Better to be safe than sorry! I’d be gutted to fall over whilst running on snow and ice and cause an injury that meant I could no longer carry on the challenge… So I was totally OK with it.
I should have spent today doing some further distance training for Wilmslow half marathon in 2 weeks’ time, but instead I did a nice 4miler and chilled out all day. RESULT.
The cancellation of race number 11 means that the race Hannah and I are organising in April will actually be bang on the half way point of 30for30 [race number 15].
The 30for30 5k and 10k fun run will be taking place on Sunday 29th April and costs just £5 for the 5k and £10 for the 10k, with the signup fee going towards the overall fundraising total. So if you are free that date and fancy joining us and supporting the cause then you can sign up here >>
The race will start and finish at the Brooks’ residency in Nantwich with refreshments and other fundraising activity.
This is a fun run organised by us and not a chip timed official race so please feel free to join in whether run, jog or walk!
Read more on the sign up page or just give me a shout for any questions! Spaces are limited so sign up soon: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/30for30-5k-10k-fun-run-tickets-42593459183
Glad we cleared that one up for anyone wondering why things had gone quiet 🙄
Will report back in 2 weeks following my first time running the Wilmslow Half Marathon!
