Its been 1 week since I posted my blog post: ‘Is suicide selfish?’, which has been my most read blog up to now. I wanted to leave it at the top of the list for a while longer (and also fully recover) before I droned on with more race details.

The Cardingmill Valley Trail Half Marathon is a very important one for 30for30  as I reckon it is the biggest challenge on the list, after the New York Marathon.

Running relatively flat road half marathons is one thing… But when a race requires you to carry 1 litre of water, a first aid kit and a map of the area, it is a whole different kettle of fish.  Continue reading

Is suicide selfish?

Is suicide selfish_

Recently, I had a chat with someone around the topic, ‘is suicide selfish?’. I feel that this is quite a popular opinion, and something that I once used to feel – so whilst I am in between races, I thought it would be a good topic to cover.

It’s been 6 weeks since race number 10 and lots of anticipation and prep for the 2nd half marathon of the 30for30 challenge.

I’ve never ran Wilmslow half marathon before, and I was quick to sign up for this one having heard good things about it. I’d also planned to run 2 half marathons in March, in a bid to make things a little more impressive for the fund raising side of things… Continue reading

Light and shade: Breaking the silence on mental health

Light adnd shade.png

No 30for30 runs this weekend means no blogging and no afternoon naps on the sofa. I’m quickly forgetting what I usually do on Sundays 🤔

I am searching for new races to book in early next year, and whilst I have the laptop out, I wanted to repost this blog by Adam’s friend, John Atkinson. John made a very kind donation to 30for30 earlier this week which prompted me to go and read his blog again. The blog was written on the year anniversary of Adam’s death and touches on John’s experiences with mental health – It is beautifully written and really worth a read… Continue reading
